About the Workshop

The Inaugural QKCT Hands-on Workshop on Quantum Computing, Quantum Communication, and Quantum Information was held on 2–3 December 2025 at the Indian Institute of Technology Tirupati under the Quantum Knowledge Cluster Tirupati (QKCT) initiative. The workshop was designed as an intensive academic and training program to introduce students, researchers, and faculty members to the foundational principles as well as emerging applications of quantum technologies.

The workshop featured a blend of pedagogical lectures and hands-on technical sessions conducted by distinguished experts from IIT Madras, IIIT Hyderabad, IISER Tirupati, and C-DAC. Participants were exposed to key areas including quantum algorithms, quantum communication protocols, quantum information theory, quantum error correction, quantum thermodynamics, and many-body theory in quantum computing.

A major highlight of the workshop was the hands-on training in quantum programming and simulation using industry-relevant platforms such as Qiskit, Cirq, QSim, and the Qniverse ecosystem. The event provided participants with practical experience in quantum gates, quantum circuit design, simulation techniques, and variational quantum algorithms (VQE), thereby bridging theoretical concepts with real-world quantum computing frameworks.

The QKCT Workshop served as an important academic platform for fostering interdisciplinary learning, research interaction, and collaboration in the rapidly advancing field of quantum science and technology, aligning with national initiatives toward quantum research and innovation.
